Online PDF tools: merge, split and compress without installing anything
PDF remains the standard format for sharing contracts, invoices, résumés and reports because it keeps the exact layout on any device. But working with several PDFs — combining them, trimming them down, or shrinking them before emailing — usually means installing a program or, worse, uploading sensitive documents to an unknown server. This suite does all three things directly in your browser.
Merging PDFs: when it makes sense
Combining several documents into a single file is common when putting together a dossier, joining several invoices from the same supplier, or sending a signed contract along with its attachments. The tool adds each PDF in the order you upload them: if you need a different order, simply re-upload them in the right sequence before hitting "Process". The result is a single PDF that keeps the original quality of every page.
Splitting PDFs: extracting just what you need
Sometimes you only need part of a long document: a chapter, an appendix, or a specific page range. Type the range in the format "1-3, 7, 9-12" (pages 1 through 3, page 7, and 9 through 12) and the tool generates a new PDF with just those pages, without touching the rest of the original document.
Compressing PDFs: the honest explanation
PDF compression doesn't work the same way in every case, and we'd rather explain that clearly than promise magic. A scanned or photo-based PDF (say, a document photographed with a phone) can shrink dramatically — sometimes over 70% — because the engine re-encodes each image at a lower resolution and quality. A text-only PDF generated from a word processor, on the other hand, is already fairly optimized: compressing it saves little and, since it's done by rasterizing (turning each page into an image), you lose the ability to select or search text. That's why, if we detect your document is mostly text, we'll warn you before applying compression so you can decide if it's worth it.
Privacy for sensitive documents
Contracts, payslips, scanned IDs or medical records are exactly the kind of file you wouldn't want to upload to a third-party server without guarantees. Since all the processing — merging, splitting and compressing — happens with JavaScript running in your own browser, your documents never travel over the internet at any point in the process.
Limits to keep in mind
The tool works well with documents up to roughly 100 MB or 500 pages; beyond that, performance depends on your device's available memory. If you're working with very large documents, we recommend splitting them into smaller parts first.
