Every tool on this site is written in JavaScript and runs entirely inside your own browser, using your computer's or phone's own memory and processor. When you drop an image into the compressor, the file never leaves your device: there's no network request sending it anywhere, no backend receiving it, and no database where it could end up stored. You can verify this yourself by opening your browser's network panel while using any of the tools.
This architecture, known as client-side processing, also has practical advantages: there are no upload limits imposed by a server's capacity, no queues shared with other users, and the tools keep working even on a slow connection, because once the page has loaded the heavy lifting happens locally.
